Architect
50 Years, 7 Countries, 150 Projects, 1 Philosophy
Over the past 40 years, Ted Robinson has designed over 170 golf courses throughout the
world. He designed courses ranked in the top five in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Hawaii.
Tantallon is his only east coast design, and we believe it’s one of the reasons it’s such a special golf course, one that our members find always challenging, never playing quite the same from day to day.
Robinson has been honored in recent years by the selection of Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Washington, as the host of the '98 PGA Tour Championship, and the selection of Experience at Koele in Lanai, Hawaii, as one of the best new resort courses in the world.
Robinson began his career as a land planner while teaching at the University of Southern California. Golf Course architecture gradually supplanted urban design until it became his dominant activity 40 years ago. He is past President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
